Siggi Palli was born in 1968 in Reykjavík, Iceland, and was brought up there. He concluded his studies at the Reykjavík High School and took several visual arts courses. He attended the College of Visual Arts in 1990-1991 and then obtained a teacher’s diploma from the Teachers´ Training College in the spring of 1998. Siggi Palli has been drawing, coloring and painting since infancy. Earlier he mainly made water colors, but has through the years been experimenting with various techniques. Lately he has chiefly been working with acryl painting on canvas. He thinks his paintings probably can be classified as pop/graffiti art. He mainly uses bright base colors and large planes, and wants his paintings to call for reaction and attention. He gets his ideas from people in the street, graffiti’s here and there, as well as contrasts in the environment. These he mixes together and endeavors to achieve holism in his paintings. Thus, no two paintings of his are alike. Each has a different origin and an autonomous existence.
